Life Update Mar 2021
Good Morning and Happy St. Paddy’s Day!!
Adam D Technology
Yesterday I had one of the best company meetings I’ve had in a long time. One of my staff members expressed to me that he was intimidated when asking for my technical help when he became stuck. This was the first time I’ve heard him express himself in that manner, and I was absolutely elated that he chose to authentically share his experience when trying to communicate with me.
Our core value number 2 is Authentic Communication, and he has not exercised that value, at least with me, for quite some time. Honestly, I had little hints that I was picking up on, but it really didn’t occur to me as such an impact as it was to him. In front of the entire company, we shared both of our experiences of one another and got to the source of our frustrations. We then spent another thirty minutes after the general company meeting to connect more and break it down even further.
I promised him that I would be open for whatever communication he delivers to me, especially when as he says “sometimes I don’t know what I really need to say, and I just don’t say anything.”
He promised that when he needed my help that he would share what he’s working on, what the issue is, what he tried, and what his potential solution is. In other words, he will set us both up for the most effective form of communication in order to get what he wants, which is to help where he’s stuck.
I’m excited by the possibility that we created together, and now it is time to put it into practice!
Skydiving:
I am currently at 470-ish jumps, and almost complete with my AFF/i course. This weekend I intend on going live (being evaluated and tested) to complete my rating by Saturday 🙂 I’ve worked very hard for this, and I’m excited and so nervous to complete this training. Having my AFF/i is a ticket to learn more, so the journey has only begun!
Dating:
It has been just over fourteen months since my last relationship and I am ready to date again. I’ve spent many hours breaking down my habits/behaviors in what worked and what didn’t work in my latest relationship, and I’m excited to implement what I learned. I’m striving for a healthy and long-lasting relationship, and I’m confident that the work I put into my discovery of being a good partner will be fruitful for myself and my future partner. 🙂
General:
I had an amazing trip to Dallas last week visiting Kyle, Stacy, Carter, and Carleen. I went go-karting, sang carpool karaoke with Kyle for hours, went to a dueling piano bar, and shared a lot of quality time with my friends. I really get how fortunate I am to have such amazing people in my life. Between my friends/family in AZ/TX/CA/NY/NJ/PA/WA/OR, and all around the world, I am ecstatic in sharing life’s journey with them. Love you all, and thank you for being in my life!!
Cheers!
